One of his favorite things to do when he first gets to Jersey and is comfortable going out by himself is roller blading around the water front. He’ll come out of his room one day with puppy dog eyes, tip toeing up to you and Nico on the couch all 🥺🥺

Nico is immediately like oh no but you keep your cool, smiling warmly at him and asks “what’s up Alex?”

“My roller blades got here from Sweden,” he say, motioning the ravaged through boxes he’s been unpacking. “Can I go out for a bit?”

You and Nico share a look, both knowing you’d never say no. It’s been weeks and he hasn’t wanted out to venture out by himself, choosing to stay locked in the apartment with you.

“Sure just make sure we have your location and you know your way back ok?”

He’s gone for hours but comes back happier than you’ve ever seen him in the few weeks of him being a Dev. It turns into a daily thing pretty much, him going out to roller blade and pick up odd things around the house you forgot to get at the store.

When you and Nico are in the house and he finally moves into the loft with the younger boys he still makes weekly roller blade trips to the house. Sometimes he tries to take Moose with him but the dog tires after a few blocks and you have to go pick him up.

But Alex always comes back with a treat for Moose for trying to run and one for you for going to get him.

this is really the only guy i use. felt pen on clip studio is excellent for the sketchier style i like! when it comes to coloring i just use a basic solid brush !

i imagine they do, and they each get assigned a baby (tanjiro with giyuu, inosuke with sanemi, and zenitsu with obanai) but it lasts for barely a day. inosuke has no idea what hes doing and obanai cant stand zenitsu

tengens wives find the situation hysterical but they help out however they can. ofc they all fight over tengen. they love helping out with the kiddies but they especially enjoy taking care of the younger ones-- they think mui, mitsuri, and shinobu are adorable! tengen definitely tries to flirt with them but hes a cringe fail ten year old

kanao, aoi, and the butterfly girls all help out as well. kanao and shinobu are typically glued together

shinjuro and senjuro are shocked to see rengoku (and obanai) and while shinjuro is pissed off at first, he can't Not take in his boys. senjuro and little obanai are super similar in nature so

urokodaki, tengen, and nezuko are worried but excited about giyuu's transformation. they're like lets freaking go. good childhood moment

and of course genya thinks the situation is hilarious and hes happy to get to spend time with his brother, although he's VERRRRY awkward. he's a bit avoidant at times but usually gyomei and tanjiro can talk him

aw thank you! to answer your question;; shinobu and gyomei basically spend time with him and are attentive to his wants/needs to help him recognize he does matter. rengoku and the others help with this! essentially love language stuff and affirmations and what not

ill be honest i totally forgot about this. yea! i would say the babies are only put in a very specific area of the manor and they deep clean it constantly. if they have a good amount of sick/wounded i imagine they have gyomei or etc take them in. im not sure! in my mind the hashira all rotate and babysit and etc

ohh this is a fun question! truthfully im not sure what the answer to this would be... i appreciate all the questions/ideas/etc!! if anything id love to have more questions about general characterization stuff, since thats my favorite favorite favorite to talk about!!! maybe more questions about like... what their relationships are like, do they have nicknames for each other, that sort of thing... idk! either way im glad people are interested :D

sanemi tries to make them laugh. he remembers his little siblings always cheering up when he would make silly faces and sounds, so he does that here

giyuu awkwardly pats the other baby's back/head and is like "there there" ... he remembers how sabito's hugs would make him feel better so he awkwardly hugs the other. most of the time obanai/sanemi stop crying purely bc they're confused as to why giyuu is hugging them

obanai would usually talk them out of it, but he can't do too much since he's restricted to baby babble. so instead, he will try to find one of their toys and "gift" it to them. ex giyuu was sobbing hysterically until obanai found his fox plushie and gave it to him

i think he would be a little awkward at first but he would get the hang of it. most of what he does is just keep them entertained and make sure they arent sick or hurt. though he eventually builds up the courage to ask if he can feed obanai. from that point on whenever muichiro is babysitting he's the one offering to feed him, though someone else has to make the bottle-- he doesn't know how to do that

Hands down, Obanai. Though I also feel really sad for Gyomei and Muichiro, and I think Tengen's story (what we know of it) is pretty sad. I don't like comparing traumas, though! but yeah. obanai is. wow. poor guy

A bit of a controversial question

Who do you think Chloe was in love with more, Max or Rachel? And what do you like/dislike about Amberprice and Pricefield?

Boy, been so busy I left this sitting in my inbox, oops!

This is indeed controversial cuz at the end of the day we won't be completely sure of either of the ships' dynamics unless we are Chloe herself, so it's all up for people's interpretations. (*whispers* therefore I hope we can all be sensible here)

Personally I don't think love could be measured in a way, like you could be head over heels for someone you've met for only over a month, and we can't exactly say that is more or less than a long-term friendship. I think even Chloe might not be able to choose one. I view Pricefield as a deep friendship, as with Ashly Birch's take; And AmberPrice as more of a romantic dynamic, even though they weren't official girlfriends.

If we refer to the intensity and passion of Chloe's love, due to the state of her life she was in when she got closer to Rachel and the AmberPrice dynamic, I'd say it's definitely more than Pricefield. With regards to how long-lasting it is however, we see that Chloe never forgot about Max even after not getting a response from her for 5 years; this is the kind of enduring love that friendships (which I personally appreciate a lot for) usually have -- is more prominent in Pricefield. These are not mutually exclusive and so all the infighting is really unnecessary haha, why not AmberPriceField! They're both what Chloe needs in her life ^^

I got into Amberprice because of the amount of chemistry they have, the mutual attraction they have towards each other and how they always have each others' back despite being in darkness themselves -- they're each other's angel and it's definitely touching. Sharing clothes and stuff freely and crashing each others' places? Cute. Mentioning the other around other friends often? Hella cute! There are also multiple elements of surprise, like you'd think a rebel like Chloe wouldn't care for a perfect student like Rachel, who instead turned out to have a wild side, and Chloe turned out to be a softie on the inside. Stuff like these makes their chemistry much better than generic straight relationships I've seen in the media growing up. And the fact that Chloe still held the belief that Rachel wouldn't leave without her after all that she's gone through, definitely says something. Rachel was very genuine with leaving town together. Also true love on this end.

On the other side of the coin though, I really wished they had communicated better, the both of them. (It's a pity they were too young and without guidance to navigate all these) Yes Rachel I know you care about Chloe's feelings and wanna protect her, but being honest and open can go a long way. Chloe could've better regulated her emotions and how she comes across, such that she'd not come off as pushy or react as negatively e.g. give Rachel "the stinkeye"; if they worked on themselves and are actually allowed to improve, a healthier relationship would've blossomed. I also felt like there wasn't anything holding them back from them doing overboard with doing wild things together, like drugs and weed. They kinda spur each other on without the voice of reason or given the chance to mature after getting out of arcadia.

These AP shots come from Life is Strange: Rachel's story "the diner" ep, which gave me new insights on some of the nuances that could've been present in their dynamics. Pretty well-made given its constraints!

As always I can't say too much about Pricefield cuz I've not seen all their interactions, so I can only make individual comments. Take them with a pinch of salt!

On the good side Chloe's enduring love is always impressive, like remembering Max's birthday after all those years and immediately gifting her William's camera and taking her back. Moments where she emoted and expressed her appreciation with Max felt really genuine and I like how she's really supportive of Max, lifting the latter's confidence when Max was insecure, not to mention standing up for her in front of Nathan, David, Joyce etc. Very wholesome. On the other hand Chloe could've better nuance the manners of her speech, especially when she's angry -- Max is helping her so much after just reconnecting her for 5 years, it's not really an obligation and so I think she could've held back on some of her words at Max, which still comes down to emotional regulation, but I also understand that she was going through really tough times. I also didn't particularly like how she'd only change her wallpaper to Max after Max followed her wishes, even though that's not super abnormal for an 18 yo.

Max the sweetheart is honestly endearing when she doesn't hold back on positive words for Chloe, and when Chloe's off-balance she'd also be able to provide the voice of reason to put them on the right path. It's giving secure attachment style-- except the bad texter part. I just wish she'd stand up to Chloe a little more to avoid getting them into even more trouble, but that's just a personal take. My main issue with Max is her not writing to Chloe as much in those 5 years, but friends grow apart and it's only natural. As with DE, we'd have to take into the account of survivor's guilt and that nothing last forever, so if they ever separate, it is also understandable and inevitable in life.

The OG did a good job on developing Max and Chloe's bond, and it makes sense why so many ship Pricefield, which I'm not against :) hope my slightly rushed response has answered your question pal! And as always, thank you for asking <3

001 : Table For Two (Minus One)

Anniversaries aren’t supposed to feel like this.

The string lights above the outdoor patio of Marseille Bistro glowed softly, swaying with the early evening breeze. It was the kind of cozy restaurant people recommended for anniversaries, complete with candles on the table and waiters in black vests.

Na Haemin sat alone at the center table, her hands folded in her lap, and an untouched lemonade slowly sweating onto the coaster.

She checked her phone again. 7:16 PM.

Yohan:

Hey, something came up. Won’t make it tonight. Sorry.

No heart, no apology beyond the single word. No call.

Haemin exhaled through her nose and looked around. Couples chatted around her, some smiling, some laughing loudly. She fiddled with the corner of the menu she no longer needed.

Anniversary. One year. Not long to some, but long enough to expect a little effort. Or, at the very least… presence.

The waiter returned with a kind smile that was starting to feel like pity.

“Would you like to order, miss?”

Haemin stared at him, then at the empty seat across from her, then back again. “Um… give me a few more minutes.”

The waiter nodded and walked off, clearly used to being lied to in that exact tone.

Meanwhile, two tables away—hidden behind a vine-covered trellis that offered some privacy—Yang Jungwon was regretting everything.

He didn’t even want to be here. This was supposed to be a family dinner—just him and his older cousin who ended up canceling last minute because of work. He was about to leave when he spotted her.

Sitting there. Alone. Looking like she was trying to convince herself she was fine.

He’d recognize the curve of her shoulders anywhere. The way her fingers tapped her glass when she was anxious. The way she was too polite to cry in public but looked one sigh away from it.

And then he knew.

Yohan ditched her. Again.

Jungwon leaned back in his chair and rubbed a hand over his face. He couldn’t just sit here. Not when she was two tables away looking like a sad Pinterest board.

"Be chill," he told himself. "Be casual. Don’t make it weird."

He stood up, wiped his palms on his pants, and walked over to her table with more confidence than he felt.

Haemin was refreshing her inbox when a familiar voice cut through her spiraling thoughts.

“Uh, excuse me…”

She looked up. And blinked.

Standing there, hands shoved in the pockets of his jeans, was Yang Jungwon. The guy everyone at school knew. Student Council VP. Dance club ace. Somehow managed to get good grades without ever being seen studying. He was effortlessly cool.

And currently hovering over her table with an awkward smile.

“Hey,” he said. “Uh. I don’t mean to interrupt. But I couldn’t help noticing you were sitting alone.”

She sat up straighter, glancing around. “Oh… yeah. My boyfriend—he, uh—couldn’t make it.”

Jungwon scratched the back of his neck. “Right. I figured. Not that I was watching. I wasn’t. I mean—not on purpose. I was just… nearby. Eating. Also alone. Which is weird, right? Who eats alone at a place like this? Haha…”

Haemin blinked again.“…Do you want to sit?” she asked before her brain could tell her not to.

Jungwon froze. “Wait. Really?”

“Yeah. I mean—you’re already here. And you’re alone. And I’m alone. And, well, you don’t seem like a murderer, so.”

He laughed. “Thanks? That’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me all week.”

He pulled the chair out and sat, trying not to look too happy about it. Inside, his heart was breakdancing.

The waiter returned, now looking very relieved.

“Ah! You’ve arrived. Will you both be ordering?”

Jungwon glanced at Haemin. “Only if it’s okay with you.”

She gave a small smile. “Sure. Why not?”

They ordered. Pasta for her, steak for him. Water for both.

For a moment, they ate in silence. Comfortable, surprisingly.

Then Jungwon leaned back and asked, “So… anniversary?”

She laughed. It sounded bitter, even to her. “Yeah. One year. He forgot our monthsary too, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.”

“You always give people the benefit of the doubt?” Jungwon asked.

Haemin looked down at her food. “Too often, maybe."

“Well,” he said, cutting into his steak. “He’s an idiot.”

Her head snapped up. “You know Yohan?”He shrugged. “We’re in the same grade. Same soccer team. I don’t talk to him much, though. He’s… not my favorite.”

Haemin stared at him for a moment, then smiled for real. “Thanks. That’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me all week.”

They both laughed this time.

Over the next twenty minutes, the mood lightened. Jungwon was funny in a dry, self-deprecating way that caught her off guard. He talked about how his dog hated his alarm clock, how Sunoo once accidentally dyed his hair green, and how Ni-ki believed birds were government drones.

Haemin snorted lemonade through her nose at one point, and he handed her napkins with the straightest face.

“You’re better company than my actual boyfriend,” she said lightly.

He smiled, but something flickered in his gaze. “You deserve better company every day, not just when your boyfriend ditches you.”

That stopped her

.“…Thanks, Jungwon.”

He waved it off like it was no big deal, but he couldn’t stop smiling all the way to dessert.

When the check came, she reached for her wallet, but he stopped her with a grin.

"My treat. Think of it as… a very fancy accidental rescue mission.”

Haemin hesitated, then nodded. “Okay. But only if I can pay next time.”

“Next time?” he echoed, surprised.

She smiled. “Yeah. Maybe I’ll accidentally need rescuing again sometime.”

As they left the restaurant, Haemin glanced up at him under the glow of the streetlight.

“You know,” she said, “you’re not what I expected.”

“Oh?” Jungwon raised a brow. “What did you expect?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. You’re, like… the cool guy. Student council. Dance team. Girls write your name in notebooks and stuff.”

“That’s terrifying,” he said flatly.

She giggled.

“But… I don’t know,” she added. “You’re just… easy to talk to.”

Jungwon stuffed his hands into his pockets and tried not to look too pleased. “Glad I could help. Even if I started out just awkwardly loitering.”

She nudged him playfully. “Very awkward. But I’ll allow it.”

As they parted ways at the bus stop, Haemin waved and said, “Thanks for tonight.”

Jungwon smiled. “Anytime.”

He meant it.

Hello anon! Thank you for telling me that "The Other End of the Blade" wasn't on my masterlist. It should be in my request masterlist! So sorry for forgetting about it, but thank you for reminding me! I just put in recent works that I forgot about into my other masterlist too lol.

As for the second part, there is still hope. "The Other End of the Blade" is also one of my favorite requests that I wrote, and I know the ending wasn't very satisfactory (and honestly seemed like it was going to continue in like some long lengthy series). It is one of the requests I would like to continue, among some others, but again, motivation is a fickle thing. I don't want to string you on only for it to not come, but "The Other End of the Blade" is one of the more likely requests to get a continuation of. In any case, I cannot guarantee that it will come soon but since you brought it up, I will try to prioritize it.

Don't worry about the pressure! External pressure is much more appreciated than the amount of internal pressure I put on myself haha. It's nice to know that someone is looking forward to what I write.

I've read 8980 three times for the drawings and a deep dive. I still have these questions about the article.

1: The Clearance Levels appear to be different from what Articles and Tales I read on site. I'm curious if there's a hierarchy for Clearance Levels and what the system looks like.

2: This can be excused by there being no canon, but I questioned if it was intentional. In the Site-17 Deepwell, Allan Weathers got promoted from Site-17's Director to O5-4, then Thomas Graham took Weather's former position. In the reviewer annotation, Weathers is a Senior Researcher and Graham's Site Director.

3: At Addendum 10: Neutralization. The interview between McPharrell and Marely, it implies that McPharrell only just noticed the "several alarming features" Lillian possessed. This can include not just demeanor but her appearance. Also, Prior to Byrnes retiring, McPharrell (and Steele) were in violation of gross negligence, so that can tie together.

Including "Testing 8980-C-36", it can be used as a containment procedure. In that case, whether Byrnes did this on purpose for indirect contact with Lillian or not is in question for me.

4: When describing Lillian's mental state at the end, my brain can't decipher what her overall behavior would be like, so I was wondering if I could have a rationale of it.

I know I'll still be asking questions regarding your articles and for other stuff. 8980 was a very interesting article to dive into. The 8980 drawings are at a halt from my art project being due, but I should be back at it in around 3 days.

1: I think it's more realistic for the Foundation to mete out specific clearances for specific things rather than just use a 1-5 scale for everyone and everything. The EthComm and RAISA would definitely have their own clearance hierarchy too, which I've seen reflected in some other articles.

2: Honestly unsure. I used Weathers because I needed a name and I asked Nagiros if it made sense to use him in this context at this time. Ve said yes.

3: Not *entirely* sure what you're asking here 😅

4: Well, she's definitely a mentally fatigued and abused person. She had difficulties forming and maintaining interpersonal relationships because her social interactions for ten years were mostly just Byrnes and occasionally someone else who were always clinically detached.

Her technophobia not only stems from Byrnes's technology-oriented abuse of her, but also from that fact that — as mentioned at some point earlier on —NETLOG got depreciated and was replaced by Framerail, so she has to relearn everything she was doing before and it's just too overwhelmed, especially combined with an intrinsic fear of failure coupled with fear of punishment.

The other psychological symptoms mentioned in the article are mixtures of coping mechanisms and neuroticism from being confined in a cell for a decade.

I'm glad the article was captivating enough to warrant three (wow!) rereads and a deepdive from you. I hope I could provide satisfactory answers!

exceedingly practical! this is enabled by the fact that what she finds most comfortable just so happens to overlap with things that are good for adventuring. she loves a good heavy-duty pants and sturdy boots and heavy cloak setup. every once in awhile she'll be in the mood for something fancier; then she likes real flowy stuff that doesn't cling to her or get twisted weird when she tries to climb a tree or whatever because she forgot she wasn't wearing pants lol

9. favorite food? least favorite? are they a picky eater? do they have any dietary restrictions?

ohhh idk what her favorites are. she's not really picky, and she'll try anything at least once- she almost got used to Viznak Swamp Stew even haha. can't go wrong with a good soup. she likes making pastries a lot more than eating them. she doesn't exactly have access to things like fruit gummies or sour patch kids or whatever, but she wouldn't be a fan of how they get stuck in her teeth. she likes some spice, but it's not her favorite seasoning. there are a couple recipes she got from the zhelruka that she's actually really fond of, but they often don't come out quite right for her (enough differences in ingredients mostly). she doesn't see the appeal of mushrooms; they're fine but why do they inspire such strong opinions in some people?

12. how long have they been around? do you know their birthday? is their birthday the day you made them or another day? what do they think of celebrating birthdays?

oh wait is this. in world or out lol. in world she's somewhere between 750 and 800; i don't think i ever picked something more specific than that (and if i did i probably changed my mind three times afterwards). i may have picked a season for her birthday but?? i didn't write it down anywhere immediately accessible to me so [shrugs]. we'll say it's in the early summer this time. out of world she's a little more than five years old by now; i started writing her stuff in fall 2019 when i got to the end of the grey company arc and discovered my pc had grown a personality when i wasn't looking

as for est's opinions on birthdays... she enjoys it well enough, but mostly it's just another day. it's good for having another excuse to get some friends together and hang out, but other than that she's rather ambivalent on it (she Loved them when she was real little though lol)

oh yeah. i wouldn't say it's odd that she collects rocks the way she does, really, but her criteria do seem baffling to most people lol. she also tends to keep notes on things her friends like and talk about a lot. she wants them to be able to talk all they want, but she's afraid of forgetting stuff and not being able to actually hold a conversation about it. she's also a little bit of a packrat about sentimental things especially, which is why her runebag is always full of random junk

While the children are at school, the parents take care of the household. Minka the cat doesn't really have to do with that. She enjoys the warmth in the house and occasionally makes sure that her humans clean up after her.

After Jack had finished a few jobs around the house, he sat down at his laptop. But he didn't switch it on straight away. Because every time he did and checked his email, there was nothing there to help him. He would have liked to close the screen again, but a gut feeling led him not to do so this time.

Jack worked with the PC almost as if in a trance. It was the same routine as every day. He took a quick look at what was happening in the other cities and then went to his e-mail inbox. And today, once again, there were lots of fake emails and supposed competitions promising the blue sky. But in the midst of all these unnecessary emails, there was one from a familiar sender. Subject: “Is this true?”.

“Ju-Judy…"/ ‘What, are they trying to sell us a car again or give us some weight loss tips?’/ ‘No… Erin, she… she answered me…’. It almost hit Judy like a blow, she couldn't breathe or speak for a moment. She almost forgot about the food in the oven until she came back to her senses… “And… And what did she write?”.

“She writes… 'oh my God, Jack! I have to apologize for only being able to reply now. I've was macht on assignment with my team for a few months. What's more, your email didn't end up in my regular inbox, but in the spam folder, which I've coldly ignored until now.” Judy was too distracted by this message and took the precaution of getting the food out of the oven to continue cooking it later. “Unbelievable… read on…”.

“'Never in my life would I have thought that I would get a sign of life from you. Of course, I'm all the more pleased to hear that you and your family are doing well. I swear to you, I didn't know there were any survivors. Some things have been kept under wraps and are only now gradually coming to light. Judy listened spellbound.

“'I've only been back from my mission for two days and my team is pretty worn out. I'd like to give them a few more days to catch their breath, but then we'll be on our way to you straight away. Can you hold out that long? What about food? What else do you need? Please let me know'… Wow, she's got a team.” Jack was filled with joy and excitement

A huge knot that had been stuck in Judy's soul for what felt like an eternity loosened. “We're finally getting help. And she didn't even know anything?"/ ”Apparently not. I think we'll get an explanation for everything. Hhh, my God, in the spam folder… Is my email address that dubious?”. Judy's emotions fluctuated between crying, laughing and being relieved.

And Jack couldn't hold back his joy either. “haha, hey, don't cry, honey, they're going to help us."/ ”and sob how? Theyll have trouble getting here in a jeep…”. Jack couldn't help but grin mischievously “ooh, they have ways and means, believe me. Should I tell the others or let them stew a little longer?”. She saw a twinkle in his eye that she hadn't seen for a long time. But she just put her hands in front of her face, shook her head and cried the pressure of the last few months off her chest.

The news from Erin stoked the long-awaited hope you had all along. An emotional moment where you think you're alone. You hadn't even heard the front door… “Why… Why is mom crying?”/ “Arlo? You're home already?"/ ‘Yeah, today was just playing and talking, I didn't want to join in anymore’. For a brief moment, Jack and his wife didn't know whether to be angry with him or just laugh about it. They opted for the second.

“And don't worry, your mother is fine. She… she's just happy because we got good news"/ ‘good news, yes… and… what kind of news?’/ ‘we'll talk about that when your siblings are home’.

Deeeee I’m back! And I couldn’t wait to play around with some of the food souvenirs I brought back, so pls accept this invite for another virtual dinner party. 

I broke down a chicken for Poulet Basquaise, made with plenty of Espelette pepper and the most interesting of the 18 pounds of butter I dragged back home (it’s more cheese-like than anything, with a distinct funk from the culture. and it’s got insane depth of flavor and creaminess).

On the side you’ll find a curried saffron orzo salad with charred artichoke and studded throughout with toasted hazelnuts, and preserved lemon peeking through every few bites to keep things fresh and interesting(withholding the cilantro for your serving…only keeping the parsley stems, shallot, and bell pepper).

Summer is my favorite salad season by far, so here’s a spring mix-frisee salad. The vinaigrette was made with Dijon mustard and Nouvelle-Aquitane floral honey, and it was topped with grilled peaches and the best smoked Challans duck breast I’ve ever had. It’s luxuriant without being cloying, and fills your mouth with a richness reminiscent of hazelnuts. The fat just gently envelopes your tongue in a veil of sweet smoke.

Uhh there was dessert. I made creme brulee with Provence lavender. But it was setting in the fridge so I forgot to take a picture. If only I’d had this lavender on hand just a few weeks sooner when I was making your cake. I weep.

the poor boy really is not used to, or built for the """hot""" weather :) devonhurst is brutally cold, and also miserable and wet, with very short summers. those summers, however, can get to a top of a whole 29C! how suffocatingly hot (LOL) (i'm from the armpit of queensland, those are baby numbers, and he's not even above 26 haha)

not only is pete straight up unacclimatised to the warmth, he has thick, insulated skin, and no ability to sweat, which means when the temperature rises, there's not much he can do to cool off except have a swim or take a cool bath :) neither of which are an option uwu

Incentive (SanZo) What's really interesting to me is that my top by hits look the same, except A Different Sensation is replaced with Melt. Melt being in my top 5 hits has baffled me since it made it up there a while ago. I mean, I love that, but I'm shocked that a rarer pair beat out 14 zsz fics for the 4th spot. what fandoms do you write for?

One Piece. I write whatever I get ideas for, so I technically have some wips for other things, but I don't intend to post any of those and haven't worked on anything non-One Piece since I started posting... except a oneshot I just started recently... you might see that one day if I finish it, but maybe not. Don't worry about it.

do you respond to comments? why or why not?

Yup! No real "why." Sometimes a handful of them build up in my inbox before I get around to answering them, but I just like saying at least a thank you for every comment.

what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Was the All Blue Ever Real? probably. I feel like a lot of my other dark or angsty fics have something that brings the angst up a little by the end, like All That's Left and Scum, since they end with a bit of comfort, and ones like Raw Deal DO end decidedly bad for at least one involved party, but I think of those as way more whump than angst, if that distinction matters here. You Stifle Me, I Suffocate might be up there, but it doesn't quite have a real ending. Since all of it is just Sanji remembering something from his childhood, the ending is just "and then One Piece happens". More... sour tasting ending than clear cut angst. So, all that said, quantifying the angstiEST fic ending is a bit weird, but I'll go with Was the All Blue Ever Real? since it's just kinda bleak all the way around, haha. It's also a more... mundane angst, if that makes sense? No one's getting devil fruit tortured or anything, shit just sucks. Is Scum angstier though, despite the bit of comfort at the end? 🤷‍♂️ Idk, you tell me.

what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

😂😂😂 I don't really set out to write happy endings, at least not intentionally. Sometimes they do happen to me, but my plot based stuff usually isn't overwhelmingly happy, so the happiest ending so far is probably by default just something that's more smut focused. I guess... What Happens in the Timeskip, Stays in the Timeskip.

do you get hate on fics?

Not yet! The worst I've gotten is one or two comments that were just... a little hard to decipher. They could be, or could not be, lol 🤷‍♂️. There's one in particular that comes to mind that I genuinely can't tell if it was meant to be positive or negative, so in my mind, it's just neutral. 🤣

do you write smut?

Hahaha. Yeah.

do you write crossovers?

Nope. I'll never say never to just about anything, because who knows what I'll feel like writing in the future, but crossovers have never appealed to me much as a reader or writer. Technically, there's been a few times I've started just a little bit of one, but not seriously, more as just a fun little exercise to entertain myself for a single quick writing session, then immediately forget about.

Not to my knowledge, and I sure hope not.

Nope.

have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Not yet, but I'm not opposed to it! Never done any cowritting, so I don't know how well I do in that sort of situation, but there's a few fic writer friends I could picture myself trying it out with some day if we ever felt drawn to the right idea for it together.

what's your all time favorite ship?

I really don't know. There is no one favorite ship for me. I could tell you what ships I think about the most at any given time, but that changes so frequently that the answer would be different if you asked me again in a week. Easy cop-out way to answer this: If I check my fic reading spreadsheet that I started at the beginning of January, DofCora is the ship I've read the most of so far this year. Make of that what you will 🤣

what's the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Considering I have probably around 300 things in my One Piece wip folder (not an exaggeration, I don't have an exact count rn, but it's for sure around there at this point in time), there's plenty of answers to this, but to pick something specific, any of my super long aus. I have several au ideas/wips that are basically "rewriting all of One Piece" type aus, and realistically I'm never posting ANY OF THEM. I know that. I only even let myself delusionally pretend i might ever get around to finishing ONE. A few of my faves are a strawhat role swap au, an au that changes all the strawhat's backstories pretty drastically, and the pro wrestling au. I wish all three of those could be epic length masterworks that retell all of One Piece, because that's how I initially envisioned them, but it's just never going to happen. There's a few of those big fic ideas that I might cut up into the more manageable or best parts and post isolated scenes of some day, but I know none of them will ever get written in their entirety and that's a bummer. The pro wrestling au is the one out of the aus I mentioned that I most want to make work, somehow, some way, some day, but we'll see if it ever shakes out.

what are your writing strengths?

Starting things. I have ideas constantly and I start new wips multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day.

what are your writing weaknesses?

Finishing things. I have ideas constantly and I'm always starting new wips. I can't finish them all.

I know these last two questions probably mean more the writing itself, not the process of writing, but I honestly don't really know. It feels a bit lame and too broad to say that I feel like I'm good a dialogue and not as good at anything that comes between, but I don't even know if that's true of my writing on it's own, or just an indication of where my priorities lie and what I'm most focused on and interested in when doing the writing. I've gotten a few comments on how I write characters, saying that they feel in character or very "human," and that certain scenarios or the way characters react to them (particularly on darker fics) are very real or realistic, and I think about those comments a lot. I really appreciate and treasure them. So if you believe those comments, I suppose that might be my strength, which isn't at odds with my feeling that dialogue is something that comes more naturally to me. I imagine they're probably connected.

thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I wouldn't do it. I'm not opposed to the idea of it, but I wouldn't do it myself because I'm only fluent in English and have no way of ensuring that I'd be writing something accurately or comprehensibly on my own. If I ever felt a fic absolutely needed it for some reason, I would ask someone fluent in that language to help or I just wouldn't do it at all.

Something related to DC Comics, for sure.

favorite fic you've ever written?

Similarly to my answer on favorite ships, I really don't have just one favorite fic. It changes too often to say, and I tend to have a recency bias for newly posted fics or ones I've reread recently. I'd say that since the start of this year, my fave posted fic of mine has cycled most often between Every Time You Kiss Me, I Could Cry, Scum, and Raw Deal, but a good 1/2 to 2/3rds of my posted fics have been my favorite at one point or another, if only for a few days in some cases.
